The onset of winter can be stressful if you are not following a nutritious diet and a balanced lifestyle
1) Organic honey: Contain several vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to boost immunity levels.
Tip – 1tsp organic honey with 1/2tsp ginger juice with warm water
2) Apple Cider Vinegar: Help in detoxification, ease your sinus issues, give luster to your limp dry hair and also can enliven your skin if taken with water in the morning.
Tip – just add few drops to warm water and drink before meals
3) Tulsi Tea: Improves your immune system, body’s defense mechanism, stamina, reduce stress, prevent chronic disease.
Tip – Add tulsi leaves in everyday tea
4) Organic Coconut Oil: Coconut oil has anti-microbial properties which keep skin healthy and nourished.
Tip – Drink 1tsp cold pressed coconut oil empty stomach in the morning
5) Organic ghee: Keep body warm, prevent dryness of the skin.
Tip – 1tsp ghee with 1/2 cup milk, 1/4tsp haldi, 1-2 Kesar strand, pinch of Jaiphal
6) Drink plenty of water each day. Avoid cold or iced (which aggravates Vata), drink warm or room temperature.
7) Consume oil-rich foods: Nuts (walnuts and blanched almonds) Peanuts, flaxseeds, sunflower, pumpkin seeds, olive, coconut, flaxseed, TIL , mustard oil, ghee
Include variety of dals (lentils, urad dal), beans- pulses (rajma,Chawali,brown – green chana), millets (bajra,Rajgeera, Kodo, kuleeth)
Include green leafy vegetables, fruits, Sugarcane juice it’ll help to maintain gut health and balance the immune system
Include natural sweets – dates/anjeer/apricot/black currants/raisins/jaggery
8) Use herbs like Amla, Aloe vera, Shunthi, Manjishtha, Anantamool, Triphala, Chandan, which has detoxifying properties and maintain moisture balance.
9) Get in the habit of “oiling up” each morning before your bath or shower. This will lubricate and protect skin.
